5 Key factors that Influence the Effectiveness of Energy Healing

In this article, we will discuss the core concepts which make energy-based healing techniques effective. We will dive into the “Spiritual Technology” which forms the back-bone of the energy healing modalities that we practice.

Introduction

The foundation of energy healing is that there is a vital life force (‘prana’ or ‘chi’), within and outside us which keeps us alive. Sometimes due to dis-harmony and ‘dis-ease’, the vibrancy of this force decreases. My previous article on “How energy healing works” elaborates on how energy-based healing works by unclogging our energy channels, meridians and chakras.

Further, there is one more level of truth. The energy-based healing approaches aim at gradually balancing the person’s true inner nature, unifying his/her spiritual connection. As the healing progresses, the patient gets re-aligned with his/her higher-self. That is why it is holistic (complete) in nature and provides an environment to support true and permanent self-healing from inside-to-outside. It is a true manifestation of the spiritual expression, “As above, so below, As within, so without.”

“Your faith has healed you”

-Mark 5:34

But what makes it possible for a healer to channelize healing energies to a patient, even if the patient is remotely located. Why does energy healing work and what makes it effective?

With the main premise being, “Energy follows Thought”, we will discuss how healing gets manifested during a session. A healer applies the following core concepts for powerful and effective healing:

  1. Invocation
  2. Intention
  3. Instruction
  4. Imagination
  5. Intuition
Energy follows thought

Invocation

In energy healing systems, a healer is used as a channel by much higher forces to deliver the right quantity and quality of energy to the patient. We can call these higher forces angels, guides, divine helpers or the Supreme Universal Consciousness. Invoking for the presence, guidance and protection of their divine healing energies during the healing session enables the healer to elicit divine intervention. In fact, it is the higher forces that are at work, using the healer as a mere instrument. The invocation also enables the healer to maintain a sense of humility.  Pride is the worst enemy of the healer, and the most difficult virtue to master for anyone.

Intention

To achieve anything, we should have the right intent. We need to have clarity on the final outcome that we are trying to achieve. The same is true with healing.

For any healing to be effective, we need to have the capacity to know what is it that we are trying to achieve as the end result. We should have the knowledge and understanding of the origin of the problem and an intent to remove and disintegrate the root-causes from patient’s system at various levels (etheric, emotional and psychological).

Setting the right intention at the very beginning is a very important aspect for healing to be effective. The knowledge and understanding of the point of creation of the problem (root-cause) can come from interactions with the patient, the care-takers and studying the medical reports. Healer’s past experience also helps in identifying what is to be eliminated and setting the correct objective.

Imagination

Visualisation is a very powerful tool in the healer’s kit. As well as understanding the origin of the problem, the healer must visualise the end result of healing.

As fresh energies cannot be channelised into a dirty system, imagining a clean system is very important.

As the healer imagines (or visualises) toxic thought patterns, unwholesome emotions, dirty diseased energy, energies of contamination in the patient’s  energy system being removed, powerful thought forms get created and manifested.

The healer must also create a mental image of a healthy and happy patient.

Instruction

Each and every cell, organ and chakra in our body is a living entity, has life force and an energy field. It is a conscious entity with innate intelligence and memory.

These “conscious entities” have the capacity to “know”, have “memory” and can follow “instructions”. For example, our cells’ innate ability (intelligence) to identify friend from foe, helps them in fighting germs and infection.

Esoterically, it is said that our energy centres have an “angelic being” or “deva” attached to it. They have consciousness, which means that they are “aware and responsive to their surroundings”.

And if these entities have a consciousness of their own, than they also have the capacity to respond to instructions. Their ability to respond to instructions means that they can be instructed to get well.

Since the healer knows what is to be removed from the patient’s system, he/she can direct and command, that is, create powerful thought forms and instructions which can affect the consciousness of the chakras. The healer has special skills in unclogging the energy centres and meridians. Instructions related to positive self-image helps in programming the sub-conscious mind of the patient.

(**Consciousness is defined as the state of “being aware and responsive to one’s surroundings”.)

Intuition

As human beings, we use our senses for “perceiving” our environment. Beyond our sensory perception, there is a higher dimension where “direct knowing” is possible, by-passing the need for logical reasoning and rational thinking. You just know! It is an ability beyond the five senses, a much higher plane of the “divine light” aspect.

This sense of knowing or intuition** is a very important asset for any healing to happen.  The healer has the ability to be “aware” of the patient’s energetic condition, even if he/she has never met the patient and the patient is in a distant place. This psychic ability goes a long way in effective healing.

In some cases, this ability of direct knowing is inherent in the healer. But these psychic faculties can also be developed through spiritual practices like purification, meditations, etc.

The healer uses these abilities to intuitively know the energy state of the patient, even when the patient is thousands of kilometre away in another continent. In fact, using these  abilities, the healer is capable of functioning beyond the dimensions of space and time.

(**Intuition is defined as the ability to understand something instinctively, without the need for conscious reasoning.)

Conclusion

In this article, we have discussed the core abilities which the healer must have and practice. These powerful concepts form the basis for powerful and effective healing. As the healer works on his/her own spiritual development, purification and other practices, he/she is able to perform extremely  powerful healings.
